Hi.I've got a daily driver baja. I'm looking for input as to what exhaust to buy. 1.want it loud, if i want, but want to keep it down, to not annoy neighbors, be a nuisance, for use in state parks. 3. I like the stinger exhaust, but don't know if it's the best idea. 4. i'd like a exhaust that is quiet, until i want to make some noise, on backroads, etc. 5 want exhaust with spark arrestor. 6. i don't want to worry about rain, i've seen the bent stinger exhausts, don't know much about them.

anyway, if somebody has a exhaust, that they'd recommend, i'd love to hear about it. i'd like some informed, good advice?

thanks a lot, ryan

for my buggy, i plan on getting the bent over tri-mil with the muffler so i can keep it fairly quiet and keep the rain out. i dont know about noise regulations where you are, you might want to check into that.

My '69 is running a tri-mil exhaust with a bent over s/s muffler, sounds great, not to loud, but still a great deep sound, especially when you floor it. Neighbors liked it alot better after I installed the s/s muffler! Also, it only clamps on so if you want to remove it, undo the clamp stick in the trunk and roll with full tri-mil sound. Below is a pic of mine. Happy tunes!

if you want to keep you neighbors semi-happy...stay away from the stinger...those things are loud. Now, if you want really loud, go stinger with no baffle

Nice Baja. I like what you did with the rear bumper. More pics?

Might want to look into the Modular ones. There are different configs of the exhaust avail for them to use either heat or above the head and they have a flange so you can use just about whatever you want.

My first exhaust system for the baja was one from bugpack allthough they are not listed in there catalog this year. Empi still has one very simaliar. It was the "merged" style not those butt ugly square looking ones. I had a stinger and a quiet pack muff for mine. Both sounded and worked good.

I now have a Kymco U bend system with SS arrestor for it. The slip-in is a nice exhaust, but mine doesn't really "slip" very well. Switching to a straight stinger is not easily done.

I think as far as rules go (for national forests etc..) I have been told that if you can run a coat hanger straight through its not legal.

Here is some pictures of a 1 5/8" ceramic coated Tri-Mill and stainless Supertrapp system I put on a 2110cc that I built for a customers Baja. Nice throaty sound, spark arrestor, and no rust!

tri-mill u-bend with one of those 18" cheapie supertrapp rip off muffs. sounds good, works good. definitely worth getting the ceramic coating and never deal with rust again. DONT remove the diffuser discs on the muffler. lost all my back pressure and power.
