A friend of mine has a '65 Sunroof Squareback, with no engine.
Otherwise complete / in either Sea Blue or VW Blue. It's been sitting for years. Maybe I should buyit and get it going

Save the poor thing: Volkswagens belong on the road. Blue is a great sunroof color, because it looks cool in the warm summer months, when you leave it all open. ;-) An engine is not a real problem, if the sunroof is complete. On that note, be forewarned sunroofs are addicting, and you will want to have it open as much as you can. If you are light skinned like me, make sure to carry and apply sunscreen. Forehead burns are not fun!

No need for a build, it just needs an engine.
I have the one coming out of my '65 Notch so that's no problem.

The 1500 guys probably already hate me so I might as well drop it and add some wheels too right?

Flip it?
Doubtful....

My girlfriend likes Squarebacks so it's an easy one to keep. The sunroof is a plus too.

I already made the call, just need to wait for him to get off work so I can go check it out again and get a price from him.

This isn't my first T3, or the only one that will be in my garage currently.
It's just a car I never thought twice about until I read sunroof squareback.

That's my "carrot in front of the horse"... She still wants one, but I haven't bought one for her yet.

OK, so I just got back with my new Sunroof Square.
The deal was too good to pass up and he threw in a T3 tow hitch I "needed" too.
Pics tomorrow in the light.

So who's going to lead me down the stock path with this one?

Can't hurt to learn something new. I know how to go the other way if I decide too do that instead.

I say go stock, but anything can be revered, and at least it is not rotting in a field.

Well then Ill be more than happy to help you go stock if you "decide" to go for it. No half ass wishy washy weenie attempts though. Deviate and Ill drop you like a bad habit.

How's that for an elitist

Start off with some pics tomorrow.

Night, you all! Es ist spate!

Here's a few generic outside shots I got before it started raining here again.

Dash and the door panel pulled off the drivers door. The window fell off the regulator at some point, so at least the window was proped up to keep the rain out.

Nice screws.......

Headliner

I know the seats are wrong. My buddy still has original low backs though. He's bringing them, the rear bumper, and the hitch over tomorrow.

It has quite a bit of stuff sitting in it right now. Once I get it off the trailer and cleaned out I'll get better detailed shots. On the plus side, there were 2 stock T3 wheels under the hood to make a complete set of 5....

architect_7 Sat Oct 04, 2008 6:14 pm

Now, that is rust free and straight! I say it deserves to be stock.  Also, looks to be in really complete, almost ready to drive. I love the shade of blue. 8)

What are the details, year (late '64/'65?), origin...?

EverettB Sat Oct 04, 2008 10:57 pm

Nice car Greg.

It needs to be dumped. LOL
