| i'm going to say yes. as far as i know, IRS trannys are interchangable as long as they are not autostick. |

Yes.
The 69 tranny takes a early throwout bearing. You'll have to either change the pressure plate to a early style or changet he bearing and cross shaft to a 71-72 (small shaft with late TO bearing) to make it work. |

I don't think it is a direct swap. You will most likely have to change the nose cone as welll as the clutch cross shaft and throwout bearing. The problem with the nose cone is the bolt pattern for the tranny mount, although they are easy to change. With the cross shaft, if you didn't want to change that, you can always just change the pressure plate which would be easier.

Kurt,
I'm not sure of the 3 bolt nose cone came in in 73 or 74. But it is an easy swap. |

The 73 trans does have a 3 bolt nose cone, and it must be changed to go in a 69.
Be observant when changing the nose cone. Check to ensure the nose cone does not interfere with the plastic cage of the mainshaft bearing. On some late g'boxes the plastic cage sticks up and will get crushed by the nosecone if you don't grind out clearance.
The clutch cross shaft can't be downgraded to the 69 style. You must upgrade the clutch pressure plate. |

| Thanks for everyone's help. I want to make this quick and simple, so I'll probably just find an exact swap. Thanks again. |
