I am rebuilding a 1600 super, I want it for a daily summer driver and a little street action against the rice rockets, however with gas hitting $2.15 today I want to be economical. I am putting in Dual Dellaro 40's, 88mm cylnders an pistons, bigger heads, after market exhaust, a complete MSD ignition system (coil, dist. and 6al control) and 1:1:1 rockers. My question is: Will my stock crankshaft and rods give me what I need and if not what size should I look into without frying my engine or my bank account? I also want to know how to recalculate my engine's displacement after the modifications? Thanks!

LOL 2.15 isn't high i am here in CA and its 2.50. I would call CB performance they will help you out . www.cbperformance.com you can get a performance cam for 78 bucks and upgrade kits for like 200.00 to give you power

big power comes for the crank. if you want the seriously boost the HP, gotta be a stroker.

big bower comes from the heads. no matter the size of the engine, heads can cause a catastrophic loss of power or they can boost it incredibly

Gentlemen the way that I've been tought to look at it is that there are many different schools of engine building, and you can build an engine specific ways to get Big Power... Just thought I'd speak up

brad heads do add a lot but there is also a big difference in overall power from a stock crank to a stroker...maybe i just like saying (typing) stroker?
