I typically use a drag link driver on a 3/8's rachet. They aren't easy to get out sometimes. If you mess up the threads bad enough you might be able to use a chisel and hit it into the side and spin it out that way. Then pull the spring. Then I use a 7/16ths standard tap to barely screw into the piston and pull it out. Depending on how much gunk is built up in the oil passage it may take a couple tries to get it out.

I got the one closer to the front (front of the car) it was hard as crap and I forgot to flush it out by turning the engine over but it didnt seem to gunked up anyway( still cleaned it a lot). I messed up the thread/screw driver groove on the back one a little but hopefully not too much. But if so I like ur idea with the chisel. Im letting the one soak in some more penetrant over night and ill try it in the morning. Before school, so that means I have to get up around 6. Fun Fun
Ide say that the funnest part of my day was cleaning the choke idler teeth thing on the left of the carb. Mostly because its the only thing that went well today and fixed my problem :-) (choke was sticking at very top) Wish me luck on that pressure valve.
Its wierd how my oil light comes on before its warm on turns and hills. very very strange. I think that my Bug is telling me "Change my oil PLEEAASE" Which shouldnt need changed quiet yet but anyways Ill try it |
