What kind of car or cars is everybody drivin' around in when not cruisin the VW's? I just sold my Diesel F-350 Crewcab to fund my 2 projects:
1. 1967 Nova SS, WAS: 650hp 454ci with Turbo 350  . Getting: a Transplant all aluminum LS1 motor with 6 speed trans from a 2000 SS Camaro and Vintage Air  .
2. 1957 Oval/Ragtop Getting restored as we speak!
Only thing is all the money going to the 2 cars, gonna have to look for a beater for now. After that it'll be a rotation of the two to work etc! :D
Anybody else??? |

my other vehicles are VW split-window busses. they get driven year-round, for work and pleasure.
appliances are for the kitchen.
and even though i live in a moderate climate now, when i didn't, my other vehicles were still air-cooled VW's.
ALL 9 vehicles in our household are vintage air cooled Volkswagens. |

I drove my 74 daily for 23 years, 450,000 miles and 3 cross country trips.
Let me know when you get close to that.
And appliances do a job and when they break... you thow them away and get another. |

well, since i've only been driving for 18 years, i think i'm doing ok. i used to average about 45k a year when i was living in and travelling from new mexico. did that for at least 4 years, and even now i still average about 20k a year. i used to make more than 3 cross country trips in a summer, what's your point?
don't get all high and mighty about driving 450k. it's not that big a deal.
when my vw's break (which isn't very often) i fix them, not replace them. |

I know... everyone drive the same car for 30 years.
No big deal.
So... if you drive something other than a ACVW all the time, you're not a true VW person?
Is that your point? |

I've been hanging out in the Rants too long.
I'll be there. We'll have to have a "Samba" meeting place... say noon at the registration table?
We'll have to post it when it gets closer. |
