Does anyone know how to fix a height issue for the rear tires? My ghia was side swiped and they are fixing it, but it is one inch lower at the corner where it was hit than the other side. The stupid insurance dudes were like, oh, it'll even out when the fender is pulled out and repaired, but I know otherwise... It is probably some tension bar issue or major axle damage. I'm probably gonna have to sue to get it done right. :(

Could be any number of things - possibly bent torsion bars / bent frame horns / bent springplates / bent torsion bar housings.
If it was hit in the side, on the wheel, I would hazard a guess that its the frame horns that are bent - if the car is a swing axle and the gearbox is canted to one side then this will cause one side to be higher.
Measure the hieght difference from the hieght at the bottom of the rear of the floor pan - not at the wheel arch - this will give you a more accurate guage of the difference. |
