i figured i would replace my transmission mounts while i was replacing the clutch in my bug.. well.. i could not figure out how to get them off.. call me retarted but i was running short on time and gave up. i would like to know what i am looking for the next time i take a crack at it.. being sometime this week possibly.
what i did do was unbolt the 4 bolts towards the back of the transmission.. and the ones at the nose of the transmission.. car was jacked up.. tried to slide the transmission enough just to get the mount in there.. wouldnt move.. disconnected clutch cable.. still nothin.. at this point it was getting dark out so i had to start reassembling everything. i really only need to replace the one on the nose cone.. since it is broken.
any websites or diagrams would be a big help.
now that i think about it.. i didnt even touch the shifter rod. wouldnt even know where to look. |

What year is your car? There's two differen mounts used on Supers.
The shift rod is what held your trans in place. You will find an inspection cover under the back seat. Take that off and you will see the coupler. |
