I have the replacement seal for my engine anf front deck lids. KGP&R shows there is a rain drain tube on each side in front but I don't see any hole where they would fit on my 74 coupe. Other than the seal the only thing that was there was a tall rubber stop on the right side...none on the left. :?: Can anyone enlighten me as to where they fit? Thanks in advance for any help.

There should be a hole right in front of those gum drop looking rubber
stoppers but under the front hood seal. One end would fit in there and the other into the a hole that's in the panel on either side.
Should be there, if not...well...don't know.

Yeah, in the channel the long hood rubber mounts into-- there should be holes at about 5 and 7 O'Clock. Maybe they're covered by the hood gasket--You're supposed to cut a notch into the rubber but maybe no one did that on yours.

If some "filler work" was done to the 2 front corners of
the front hood seal channel, the holes may have been
covered up. Also, when properly installed, the channel seal itself
should be notched to it won't block water access into the
front hood drain tubes. The hood drains are positioned
right in the center radius of the channel front corners. The other
end of the elbow drain is installed into a hole on the side bulkhead
of the front trunk and dumps the water to the outside.
These front trunk drain tubes are the most commonly missing parts
that I see on customers' Ghias. Rust & rot in the spare tire well is
usually the result. #-o |

I removed the old, torn front seal and there was a hole underneath at each corner but was covered by the seal. There were no tubes on either side but I did have the holes; both in the seal channel and the sides. I just thought about the drain tubes for the headlight buckets. I'll bet those are missing as well. I'll have to go back out and check those after lunch. Thanks all for the help.

Just checked the headlight buckets for drain tubes. Both drain tubes are there but in terrible shape. Guess I'll be ordering those. I did however find one deck lid drain tube coming through the right wheel well. Well a piece of it that is. Thanks again to all for the help.

Is this specific to 74s or to all Ghias? If it's all of them, I guess I'd better get my flashlight and my credit card out.

Went to take a look at my '68, which needs a new seal. PO did the filler work trick instead, which explains the bit of rust in there...water has no where to go.
