| The hardest part of installing the kit will be getting the old brake spindles off. Once you have accomplished that, it's a piece of cake. oh yeah, well worth the money!!! |

| Hey I am about to do a disc brake kit myself, but you might want to look at www.socalautoparts.com the only thing is you can not order online  , however their disc brake is onl like 160 dollars, and I have heard nothing but good things from them  . |

Maybe that was me?? I installed them on my '71 Super and documented the steps. Take a look at:
http://www.i4putt.com/Herman/Herman.htm
There's a link on that page to the brake installation. I really can't recommend this process enough. The braking 'power', especially in wet weather, is much improved.
Good luck!

| the disc brake conversion is very easy. as mentioned previously and with most upgrades, the hardest time you are going to have is removed old, worn and corroded parts first. |

thanks for all of the advice
and a big thanks to GRANTSBEETLE for sending me to SoCalautoparts.com cost only $210 for the whole kit, and they told me i use the original spindles so i did not have to buy new ones again because the ones that are on it now are almost brand new just few months old so that made me happy and i should be getting the kit this time next week so should have it done by the weekend next week.
AND thank you Lstregis for the step by step in really put the things in perspective for me and it looks like it will be pretty easy to install this kit. |

Thanks, Jeffrey!
Just for info, there'll be more pics next week because (unfortunatley) Herman's getting a "head transplant" this weekend! (Stretched valves on #3 cylinder).
Stay tuned!

| I did the Topline conversion kit a few weeks ago (using Lstregis's site as inspiration) and the results are fantastic. NB: please do remember to tighten up the lug nuts before you put the car back on the ground. That's all I'll say about that  |

I've had my '72 Super for 26 yrs now and recently did the Topline front disc conversion, one of the best improvments I've ever made to the car, since the hp increase that is. The Topline kit is complete and easy to install. You do not need to replace the front spindles with it either. I also recommend getting the High Energy graphite impregnated urethane bushings and the HEGIU caster fix bushings for the front end. These parts along with good or new tierods, idler bushing, steering dampner and steering box will eliminate the front end shimmy. I have done this and it now tracks smooth and straight from 1 mph to the back of the pin on the speedo (~125mph). Adding a strut tower bar will also help tighten up the front end.

lol! By the way how many mph past pinning the needle can you go without breaking the speedo?? Do they make a 120 mph vdo that will fit a 72 dash?

| You know, I seem to recall at various times that there was these out and around in like 120 or even 130mph (I think) and I wanna say that it may have been either Vintage Parts, H&H, or Century that I saw them being sold through. Maybe IAP? On special? Hmmmm. May need to call Vintage Parts or BFY Obsolete, Brett. Look 'em up! |

Draggin' up an old post from the past here. I have been getting the parts for this upgrade to my 72 Super bit by bit from various sources. So far I have the calipers, pads, rotors, and wheel bearings (inner and outer).
What am I missing? Do I need an adapter plate for the calipers?
TIA! |
