Called Jeremyrockjock and asked for a tow bar to fit my 67beetle snd my son's bay transporter. I needed it in a week. He fabricated it and shipped it in under a week. I towed the bay from Pittsburgh to RI without any problems. I made a wiring harness, ran it under the bus and through the preheater tube so I could utilize the stock lights. Everything worked perfectly. Thanks Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy!!! Great product. Had to tweak the header a little to clear, but it pulled a Puck all over Co. without a problem. I'll need one for the 69 soon.

Bus regards,
Steve

I recently bought one of Jeremy's hitches for my 68 westy; and though I plan on only using a bike rack or a cargo tray- this hitch is well build for towing big items!! I love it!!! It has a great great design bolting to the frame of the bus- everything lined up perfectly and it looks very stealthy!
Truly this is by far the best hitch for the money!! And I think it was very reasonably priced!!!
Jeremy thank you!! I highly recommend your work. Great job![/img]

I ordered and received my hitch in good time. It looks to be excellently made. Tomorrow, I should get it put on. I'll report back then as to fit.
I'll post a pic of my 1971 single (with 2.3 Ford engine) and 1977 13' Trillium camper as soon as I get everything checked out.
I'm excited to be able to pull my camper -finally!

EDIT- DANG!!! My conversion won't allow me to put this bumper on. So sad :-(
I recommend it to anybody that doesn't have a 2.3 Ford 4-banger in their bus/truck (which would be probably everybody else !) It is well-made painted great, clean welds and all the hardware you need is with it.
I so wish it would've fit!!!

I just concluded my transaction with Jeremy. I HIGHLY recommend him for any business he might have for you.

Unfortunately, the bumper would not fit my single cab. I guess it is the 2.3 Ford engine or something :-)

He refunded my monies promptly with no questions. Good guy!

i kinda can't believe i haven't left feedback on the jeremyrockjock towbar. i wouldn't be half the bus hunter that i am without one. i literally pulled 8 buses over 1500 miles in 2 weeks. here is a smattering of bus pulls over the years.

any questions?

I bought a full tow bar set-up. I got the Bus AND Bug attachments and I'm very happy with everything! I made the purchase at the beginning of this month and I'm already putting it to good use (that should tell you something about the quick turn around time). Of course I can't be "normal" and decided to use the bus bar to tow a SuperBeetle. Now, this is NOT something I recommend, but I only had to go about a mile to get my latest find back to the homestead and figured I couldn't get in too much trouble doing so. Even though I had things rigged up well different than it's intended purpose, the bar towed incredibly well! I hardly knew she was back there. Here's hoping JeremyRockJock fab's up a Superbeetle tow attachment to his repertoire. I'll be first in line to buy one!!!

Well, I tried emailing Jeremy directly but haven't received a reply after two days so I guess I'll air my complaint here.

I purchased his bus tow bar about a year ago. I've tried to use it on two different buses and could not get it to fit onto either one. They were first a 1969 and last week it was a 1968. looking at the problem it seems that the U brackets are too wide and hit either the attach point for the steering damper or the drivers side lower zerk fitting.

Since jeremy has produced several of these tow bars I'm having a hard time understanding why it doesn't fit for me. I hate to start cutting and grinding on it to try and make it fit.

Hey Gary, I did reply to your email on the 26th. Now I am wondering why my emails aren't making it through. Anyhow I am sorry but the zerk fitting must come out to use it on your 69. I had to do it on my 69 also. I don't on my 70. VW seem to put the zerks on a different spots throughout the years. On my instruction sheet I write that it might be an issue on some beams. If you were to clearance it to fit next to the zerk then it would probably sheer it off when you turned sharply since the tow bar does have a little side to side movement. With a tow bar that fits so many different models it hard to accomidate all the little details between the years and make it a slip on/off application. I have tweaked the design some over the years. The flat bar bracket on the right side was a mod to clear the dampener without removing it. Later on I found that 64-67 beams have the dampener on the left side. I did not want to have flat bar on both side because I want the web there as reinforcement. So on a 64-67 bus you will most likely have to take the dampener loose. I have built 600 tow bars now and it has not been an issue.

Maybe one day I will have a superbeetle and a type3 attachment.

I need a beetle one for myself. I keep borrowing a beetle tow bar when I need one because every one I build I sell.

Jeremy,
No emails were received to: [email protected]

If your tow bars have issues with certain years have you published those? Pulling a zerk isn't a big issue but I could have saved myself $100 tow if I had known. I have a 1968 bus in the driveway and will attempt to install the bar tomorrow and document it with pics. Stay tuned.

I added the possibility of removing a zerk to the instruction sheet several years ago. I include that sheet with the tow bar when I ship them.

Bought Jrocks bus tow bar 2 weeks ago.. It arrived quickly with instructions attached.

Towed a '77 to scrap two days later without an issue..

Towed a '69 120 miles this past weekend no problems at all.. I read the instructions about removing the zerk first..

Amazing bar that almost paid for itself already....thanks.

My mistake then. I usually don't read instructions.

Me neither. Its a guy thing.

Just received one of Jeremy's tow bars for my 73 camper. Very pleased with construction and workmanship. Did a trial fit and had to remove the driver's side zerk fitting to fit/prevent possible damage. I plan to weld on a 9mm socket to the short end of one of the L shaped pins so it is handy for future use. Jeremy responded to my questions promptly and had the bar to me in a week, even with a special request for a 1 7/8" coupler instead of the standard 2".
