| Rebuilt motor new jugs, pistion ,rings head and carb. When I drive it, it will not open up, it like it is in a bind. runs and idles good and runs smooth, I don't know what else to check. I don't want to pull it apart again. Also when hot it will not crank. Has new Bosh starter. Please help. :x |

Well,
It could be a number of things. Will it not go above a certain RPM or does it just have no power? How many carbs do you have? Is everything stock (i.e 1600cc)?. I'd make sure that your timing is right, that your carburetor and valves are properly adjusted, that your gas pump delivers enough fuel, and that your fuel filter is not clogged. Is there a leak between your cylinders and new heads, or new rings? (check the compression).

Is your distributor advancing, or is it stuck? Hook up a timing light and see if the timing advances as the engine speed increases. |
