Hi there,
Well, I finally got back from Sacramento, and it sure is nice to get out of the heat! I thought the show was pretty good this year (at least it was better than Kelley Park and Vallejo), but I left before they announced the winners of the judged show. Does anyone know who/what car drove away with Best of Show?
Also, another question: What's the nearest hotel to the raceway? Every single year I've gone, I've stayed at a hotel that's about a 20 minute drive.

they post the results on the web site (burorama.com) but who knows how long that will take...

better than kelley park what were you there for again???

not volkswagens...

the best of the best wouldn't consider bug-o-rama to show but we have GFK coming from across the nation to kelley park hmm. maybe if you like over done customs 120degree weather and BLACKTOP the only thing sac is good for is the swap meet...

Kelly Park's worst car would have kicked butt on any of ones I saw. Just compare the pictures of both shows. Sac is a great show for the swap meet and a fair show for the drags but a terrible show for show cars. Unless you live locally, there is no reason to take a good car to Sac. It is the perfect example of a throw- away event. Duh, let's have a few show cars to support the Drags. We'll put them out in the dirt and forget about them. Sac will never get the top cars with an attitude that obvious. :?

exactly my point as well at least you think they would try and grow trees there or something the show sux the weather sux the swap is heaven (usually) other than taht i would really have no reason to attend...

we all can agree that the venue (read: "hot blacktop") sucks for a car show, but there's not exactly a ton of drag strips in the greater sacramento area. as far as the weather goes, it's the last weekend in may, not much you can do about that. it's not exactly the bay area in mid-april. we do the best we can with what we have. there were still over 200 cars in the show area, not a bad turnout IMHO. the great thing about sac bor is there's something for everybody. car show, drags, new vendors, swap....enough to keep just about anybody busy all day. just my .02.

I took 3rd place with the 58 so I was happy and I know my brother was too. R.K Smith took pics of the car too.... It was hot as usual but oh well. I really enjoyed the drag races...Looking forward to all the upcoming shows.....Kyle mr rhd

I was in the swap the entire time. I bummed a little section of Rogers spot (21 window slider) right next to Lind.

People with anger about VW shows....make me laugh!! I had a good time, that's all I was trying to say! I'm not going to play "my ____ is bigger than yours" game. I enjoyed the show, leave it at that! :roll:

i was flexing nothing nor was i trying to prove anything to you why? because i don't have to it's your own fault you could enjoy a show like sac over kelley park. like i said all teh real cars go to kelley and avoid sac...
