hello all
I have a used replacement nose panel for my bus 1960 but its a bit rotten in the bottom and should need some bodywork.
For about the same price as the body charge me to repair, 400$, i could get a new one from CIP1 i think (saw it on their catalog but cant find it online...)
Whats the best choice? are the new panel of good quality? anyway ill have to weld the bullet on the turn signal housing.
im a bit disapointed that my german steel panel need so much work.

Thanks for the website!! Metwiz.com has some awesome body panels and repair sections. He's got some winshield repair panels I need for my 67. Check out the slide show for his 56 sunroof standard. The guy has some amazing skills to do that depth of work. Nice Site! |

i just did mine and used an original nose off of a doner. I did it all myself and the new one fit like a glove. Has anyone used new sheet metal that fits as good as the original? |

If you can find good used nose skin use it , but if your damage is only on the lower section i can fab a section above the seam as well as the lower section, Leard has bought my parts before. The only thing i don't try to fab is the V section (yet). And thanks for all the compliments ,,Later Kelly |

thanks for the help
Kelly, my damage are on the lower V section, my original nose was worst but ill send you a picture and see if you can do something about it on this donor nose. Im not lucky enough to live down south to find OG rust free nose...
and also my question was about new nose panel if the quality is nice enough for 400$ .
If its crap ill try my best to repair my donor skin even if its not perfect . ill use some metal weld behind all the last 3-4 inch, then for the lower embossed V part i think fiberglass will do the job

BTW, Thanks to MetalWiz aka Kelly, all repair part are awesome quality. I greatly appreciated a skilled person like you give interest in the VW world and make part for us. |

I can make it just under 12 inches which is plenty of metal but the upper are might have to be shaped as you install it. Pmail me if you need to skim i just ck the forums when i have spare time or the grandbaby is visiting, ( takes over the tv for toons). [email protected] or [email protected] , Later |

Leard let me see what i have laying around, But i don't think i have any decent V's here, someone should have a good v section that could be bought, Hell i would repair that one one way or another, with out fiberglass. Hell find a bent one hammer it out the weld it in, I really need toworkout the bucks and start fabbing them but i'm holding off till i get my monster press done. Later |

I had to fab the lower four inches of the v myself. Not too difficult, just takes time to get it right.
Give it a go. |
