Just bought a new set of body moulding from kgp&r but the clips are too big and makes the moulding look wavy :? I heard about clips from a Chevy with a little modification work great but can't locate. Help

Did you follow the instructions in KGPR's catalog on how to install the molding with these clips? You have to kind of "roll" them on. Get them set up on the bottom and roll them onto the top of the clip. I agree though, they are crap and should be better in size. But they do keep the trim on securely.

It sounds as if they are sending out rabbit moulding clips. From what I can recall, the rabbit clips look very similar to the Ghia clips - except that they are too wide.

I do recall getting a set of true size clips from West Coast Metrics... But,
That was over ten years ago, so I cannot say if they still have them.

I realize that you did not indicate if you purchased a new moulding set - but if you did ...

My soapbox: If a company offers a moulding set, INCLUDE the clips. That is what H.O.G. used to do.

Kgp&r sells parts.
(and gives a little restoration advice)
and now thanks to you,
I know to ask what's up with their clips.
As for why the ones they sold you don't fit?
ummm, errrrrr, ask them. (i.e. Refund?)

I'd say the big question is why the big bitch in this forum isn't satisfied with a better log of old questions and old responses, and not just icy retorts of search the database.

Can anybody tell me the exact placement of the body molding - the twin chrome stripes which go on each side. I have a 68 Ghia and the previous owner filled in the mounting holes, so I have to redrill them. Any diagrams/photos or measurements would be helpful. Thanks.

remove your door panels, front and rear, and look for the old holes. use a staightedge to extend to the front fenders, and mark three holes. then drill 'em out. hope this helps.
