Just put a set of dual 34mm solex carbs in my 1600dp bus. What should they be reading on the flow meter? They are at 7kg at idle right now everything seems to be running good. Thanks

| Since every engine is different as well as every flow meter, there is no real "right number". Just get the two carbs even at idle and the idle set at the correct RPM. Then move to the mixture adjustment. Once that's all set, then I attach the linkage and observe flow changes between the two carbs. If snapping on the linkage made changes, you need to readjust the LINKAGE and try again. Good Luck!! |

funny this comes up right after posting about my solex :D
Like Nate says there is no real right number. Set the with the idle stop screw, adjust the mixture. Then hook up the linkage. make sure it doesn't change any. If that checks out then hook up a tach and try and see how even it is at different rpm ranges. This is where I had issues because of the center pivot wanted to move to take up some slack before actually opening one of the carbs. keep at it, it will work. |
