I know next to nothing about gias.. I own type 3s. The other day a saw a gia with chrome molding along the edge of the roof gutters and thought it might be a nice touch on my '65 notch. The question is, what years did they do this and is it a part that I can find through ISP or similar? Thanks Gia guys (and gals)!! :)

Jim,

The rain gutter trim is applicable to all Karmann Ghia coupes.
If the Type 3 rain gutter profile is similar to the Ghia, there should
be no problem with fitting.
We have some nice used sets in stock, if you're interested.
Just send me a PM or email.

The rain gutter molding can be installed on all cars, but I believe it came on vehicles produced from 1970 thru 1974. There was a special rivet used to secure it to the gutter lip. How you replace that I have no idea.

i've got an extra set with the retainers. they basically just press on to the rain gutter. the "rivit" goes thru the small holes in the ends of the gutter and the legs fold over.. you would have to bend the trim to the shape of your car which could probably be done.
