I have the long rocker to replace on my barndoor. Its the one with the flange on it. Do you suggest butting it up to the stock metal or lapping it on the flange. I wanted to do it so it wouldnt be detected with the longwall interior panel removed. I guess its more work but I need some suggestions. thanks

Skim when I did the one on my 64 I used a joggling tool to put a flange on the Bus side. The reason I was told to do this is because moisture gathers and runs down. With the flange on the replacement panel facing up it could collect there and start the corrosion problem all over. Also the flange helps prevent warpage and gives you a place to lay a nice bead.
