I'm still thinking out a motor. I'd like more power but don't need a ton. Honestly the powerplant in it keeps up just fine so I'm thinking of staying with a 1600... just tweeking it a little. I'm planning to use a CW crank, dual 34 ICTs and either a Scat C25 or Engle 110 cam. Will this be a noticeable improvement over stock? Anyone have any suggestions to get a little more out of it?

A 110 cam would be an improvement over stock. Are you planning on taking the engine apart because it is bad? If not, a set of 1.25:1 on a stock cam would wake it up without tearing the whole engine apart. Also a set of Kadrons would certainly breath some life into it. Word to the wise, Kadrons love the Scat bellcrank linkage. Put the Kads and some ratio rockers on there and you would wake that 1600 up to a zippy reliable motor.

The motor in it now seems pretty strong but it does like to mark it's territory... so I thought a rebuild would be a good idea. I thought about just doing the top end of the motor though. I haven't really looked into where it is leaking from yet... Any suggestion on heads? I forgot that in my first post... I was thinking CB Perf 044s. I'm really just trying to get some decent performance without building anything too big... it's my first build...

I would keep the motor you have in the car while you build another motor. Keep the 1600 as a back up, If you're going to build another motor with those high end parts do it right. You could build a 1776 but it cost the same to build a 1914 and you get alot more power. The biggest restriction you would face is what you do to your heads. CB has some cnc'd heads that are really nice for about $500-600 or you could get some stock heads and have them reworked with a port and polish, three angle valve job for about $200-350 but worth every penny
