I recently purchased 2 long blocks for $500.00. One is a 1600 DP and the other is a 2110. I noticed as I was loading them into my truck, the 2110 was considerably lighter than the 1600!
My question is when I put all the pieces together I noticed there was a stock Solex 34 carb. Is this carb going to be enough to run this motor? What would you recommend? The motor is going in my dune buggy!
What is done to a 1600 to make it a 2110? How in the world do I determine what mods may have been done to this motor? It's clean, crank turns and it does not leak any oil!
I am going to take it down to a shop and have them start it up and tune it!
I can't wait to find out what I bought!
Any feedback is appreciated!
Thanx
Highly Optimistic! |

| Consider investing and putting dual carbs on that 2110, you will be happy you did. Also, what tranny are you going to run? |

My buggy has a modified bus rear end. I am considering replacing it with an IRS geared more towards the street. I don't want it to wind out at 50mph!
What size dual's do you recommend and what is better, Webers or Kaldron's?
What about a large Progressive Single carb?
Your feedback is appreciated!!! |

Personally, I like webers, but people have thier own opinions. I would invest in dual carbs on that 2110, you would be much happier then the single.
I suggest the Dual Weber ICT single barrel carbs (34 mm venturi) .
They are reasonable price, rumored to have great performance, reasonable fuel economy, works well on mildly modified engines, rumored not to need a choke even in cold climates, rumor is that you won't have to rejet on a mildly modified engine, and actually easier to install than the center mounted carbs. |

Definitely don't go with the progressive 2BBL, waste of money. Not much improvement over a stocker. I have personally used Kadrons on a couple of engines and like them very much. They are very robust, just set them up right once and pretty much forget about them. AJ Sims (lowbugget.com) is the Kadron guru and has had very good success running them on 2275 engines.
Whether you go with the Kads or the Webers, you will want to spend the $65 for the Scat case mounted linkage. It is by far the most stable linkage for duals yet. |
