I saw a picture on german look.com of a notch with a vr6 (in the rear) and I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has tried somthing like that or knows of someone who has. The motor did fit in the car nicely. I think thst would suprise a few of the honda people myself. Thanks for any input

| You can be the first kid on the block to tryit. Then you can tell us all the in's and out's. Let me know if you think it'll fit in a type1. |

Why bother???
Stick with the A/C lump - You dont need a VR6 to surprise the ricers. |

Won't your back seat become your radiator?
I need to see a pic of this car showing the motor in it...Firewalls gone and so go's your structure. Then you will need add'ed bracing ect...
Sounds like a hellish job-good luck!
LOL-I had that silly dream of wanting a V8 in my ghia... |

| You can make WAY MORE POWER with a 1.8T engine, plus it is more compact and will make servicing easier. STICK WITH AIR COOLED! |

| for those that want pics, go to germanlook.com , go to shows, Le bug show spa 2002. halfway down is the pic. it's a nice looking install. I'm not saying I would do it to my notch, but I'd bet it would be fun |

| My old mechanic had a notch with a watercooled vanagon motor (waterboxer or wasserboxer??) in it it was featured in VW trend the thing halled ass and was a sleeper. His name was Lyle Sherry he also invented the generator stand oil filter. He doesnt live around he anymore but I remember him saying it was a pain in the ass to route all the waterlines cause the radiator was in the front. He was amazing at fabricating stuff I wish I had some pictures. He also had a scirroco with a 16 valve motor in the back the guy was the best mechanic Ive ever known wish he was still around...I dont know that I would ever do something like that myself but if I could find Lyle he might be able to give some good pointers |
