| Alright here is the dilema. i want to do a rat look on my 73 but i don't exactly know the options. i've read aoubt john deer blitz black, and flat black paint with clear coat and flattner. what is the best option for this. also i plan on buying a gun from harbor freight in the near future. do i need a seperate one for primer? thanks for the info. |

| a base coat is flat... its the clear that is shinny... use flattening agent. |

for mine:
It's been 2 years and it's holding up awesome. Sprayed it through the same gun you're gonna buy (I just know) and it's $8.00 a quart. Reduced with acetone it took 2 quarts to do my car. The whole paintjob, including the flames, was under $35.00. I didn't put down any primer, I just sanded the crappy ass $50 maaco paintjob that was on there with 320g on a DA, then shot the black. Tip:don't get flat black rustoleum, it fades faster. Get semi-gloss or satin black. Just another option. Good luck. |
