View original topic: Wanted: Ghia assessment and panel replacement info

I've seen a couple articles on the net on what to look for when looking at a Ghia. The biggest things were rust and nose/tail damage. I'd like all the info I can get on what to look for when buying a ghia so I don't get one to find out it's unrestorable.

I've heard rumors that Ghias can't get replacement panels. My friend told me going the other way that the panels can be replaced by scraping lead out of the seams or something?

Info regarding panel replacement would be valued as well as info onto what to look for when looking at a Ghia. Thanks!

There are no panels you could need that can't be gotten.
Torching the original lead seam filler does not facilitate panel removal.
For more info, see the "Body" page on my website, specifically, the 83 page .pdf from 1960.
