kinda hard to find originals but possible. sometimes you'll luck out, but you'll have to be patient. the aftermarkets can get pricey too, but a lot less then OG! good luck! |

i have a spare, reasonably complete set... everything but screws, rivets, seals and glass... i might have some repop screws. all parts in *usable* condition. lower channels need a little work but solid, straight, and good hinges. i ended up with two sets with one installed in the hacked dc. not interested in selling but would listen to offers equal to what I have in them... so dont complain to me on the price  i've listed them for sale before but never a taker. i'm saving them for that nov. 19, 1957 deluxe i'm looking for. 8)
*any* thing can be found! |

Check out Izzy's Safaris. Supposedly they don't leak at all. High quality stuff. |

the busboys fit perfect and line up with the factory mounting holes. The wolfgang suck, dont fit worth crap, not even near lining up to original holes. I have had both. |

If you want to be happy. Stay away from Creative Engineering
In fact, Go ORIGINAL or don't go!!!!!
I'm stuck with $650.00 worth of Creative alluminum crap!!!!!
The stainless steel hinge just fell off. And now I can't even get in contact with them. |

I'd go with originals too. "Ain't nothin like the real thing"
Some of the aftermarket safaris seems crude in a way compared to the originals. I put a set of originals in mine, and I went through the trouble of installing the nut plates too... I'd recommend doing this. It allows for some adjustment after you put them in.
Stay away from Wolfsburg West safari seals... They're awful. They fit horribly in the corners. |

Thanks all,
I guess I will continue the search for originals! By the way, since there seems to be many repros out there can someone tell me the best way to spot an original pair? |

the oval latches are a good way but now a company repos the to. Most aftermarket latches look just like wingwindow latches, triangle shaped |

It's the day his wife was born...he's been looking for that bus as long as I've known him. |

originally my wife wasnt that interested in the search for her birthday bus but after seeing a few deluxe busses, she affirmatively stated that it *had* to have the little windows and the sun roof. I laughed.
I've also been looking for a type 34 ghia or a notch for my birthday car. Of course Scott would never let me get a type 34 so I can tub and prostreet the thing... big blower and hilborn injectors sticking out of the back deck lid...
... back to the safari window originality thing... so a set of CE windows are 6 bills plus? hmmm, maybe the price on my set is reasonable after all. |

Was it cracking before it fell off or did it just go? I have the CE ones on mine and the other day i noticed the hinge looking like it was slightly coming away from the frame but i didn't think too much of it..
What contact details have you tried for them?? I might be able to help |

Steve,
Over half of the hinge was loose from the frame. I just gave a little pull and it just fell the rest of the way off.
CE did email me just after I put up the not so happy post in the fourm.
They said:
" David did respond by Emailing you when you first had the problem you obviously did not receive it. which side is the problem and i will send you a replacement "
I sent them my address but they have not replied. That was June 25th. I will try to call them this week at
