The valving in the shock is proportioned different, 50/50 would be even on compression and rebound, 90/10 means that there is very little resistance on extension and alot of resistance on compression (to keep the weight transfer on the back wheels)
I bet RLR could point you in the right direction |

Their actual intent is to help transfer and keep weight on the rear wheels and assist in better 60ft times espeically if you are using an inferior tire such as a street tire.
Once you get into slicks, they become less important but still do their job unless you are on that border line between not quite having enough power to keep the front end up and not enough slick or bad track. |

| Damn you Wheelie King Mike! you make it look so easy, awesome avatar by the way. how do these struts affect handling, and would they go on a Super? Can a street super lift it's nose off the ground? Too heavy ::hugs his Super:: |

actually thats a good question. you would probably have to take some strut cartriges and take them to a custom shock place and have them re-valved. unless some one already makes a cartrig that would fit in a vw, but thats pretty far fetched.
its probably not the greatest thing for street driving as they dont work quite the same as a regular shock in controlling the dampening. but if you are aware, it can be done. ive done it many times and know not to do or go any where stupid. (dont do it any more, im too old for tickets.)
Can a super do it? any thing is possible.
as far as making it look easy. ive spend a lot of time trying to make street tires work. then once the tires hit the right conditions and then the slicks went on, it can get out of hand now. |
