Sad I know but lack of $$ and time plus resonsibilities might make me have to sell my square    . So , what do you think would be best .?? Should I leave the black primer or spray it with can's ??
Tjank's for any idea's guy's .

What I would do is id leave it black primered, that way if you sell it you can say that they can choose their own color but then again someone might not wanna pay what you want for a primered car, but i dont know if a spray paint paint job will be worth it. plus i like the black primer look. :D

have you seen Eric Allred's website on spraycan paint jobs? they don't call him Krylon for nothing. If you prep it well, you can get halfway decent results, remembering it is just spray can. enough coats and you can wetsand, then wax, and I'd bet it would be hard to tell the diffence between that and earl schieb

Leave it Black, That seems to be the fad and you might get more offers? IMO

leave it black rattle can spray jobs are terrible [-X

I agree with Mofo. The problem with a Krylon paint job is that you'll have to buy so much paint, masking tape, sandpaper, buffing compound, buffer, etc. that you could just go get a Scheib or cheapy Maaco paintjob and save the aggravation. (I hate to admit that I actually DID the Krylon thing once with amazingly good results  - but the amount of time and materials spent getting it right was just stupid for what it was.) The dilemma THEN is that the Krylon, Maaco, or Scheib paint job just LOOKS like a cheap paint job. A cheap paint job is like a cheap suit. You can just tell. A prospective buyer will probably be way less turned off by black primer than by having to redo a botched job. If you have taken the time to do a nice prep, why potentially ruin it? I personally wouldn't be deterred by a nice Type 3 that just needed paint.

thank's guys . Thats kind of what I was thinking. Why prep it then spray on some junk that the next guy will have to redo again. Thanks for all the ideas.

Got a link on that? Just out of curiousity.

Leave it BBQ black and paint the stock steel wheels red, rip out all the seat covers and set some cardboard down over the springs. It's the new Hot Rod style. The kids love it.

I was thinking of pulling the fenders off my fasty and replacing the seats with milk crates. Maybe it'll be the new trend

WELL LOLO, whats your decision ????? I JUST GOT TO KNOW!!!!!!!

Lolo Sun Jun 27, 2004 7:17 pm

on the island we have no earl schwabb or anything , and if I paint it I'll want to perfect the body which I dont think I'll do. If someone who deserves the car want's it theyll appreciate it in primer and will have a good starting point for a car . In alot of way's I dont want to sell it but there are some good reason's why I should.
Thank's everyone for everything!!
I always do the same thing , save a car from the wrecking yard and get it all back in shape but to modify just doent fit into my $ range . Maybe one day . Untill then scream those RPM for me once in a while please

Lolo Sun Jun 27, 2004 7:24 pm

Wow , after looking at Eric's car it's hard to believe that's a spray can job . Now Im thinkin.................
