| Just replaced the oil bath with bugpack filters today. Engine seems to be running poorly. Sometimes coughs when starting and not wanting to idle like before. I've got 32pdsit's on a 1776. Anyone else have this problem? I'm thinking I should go back to the oil bath. |

The oil bath is superior to any aftermarket filter.
I am not familiar if it flows enough air for a 1776cc engine though. Iw ould think it if you have the stock 32s adjusted and rejetted for a 1776, it should work fine. |

I've got 32 PDSITs on a 1776 with Engle 110 cam. I'm using the stock oil bath air cleaner. I'm running 50 idle jets and 130 main jets, but my Gene Berg exhaust analyzer says that's a little rich. Will be installing 45 idles and 125 mains soon. I live at 5000 feet, so you sea level guys will have to make allowances.
Engine runs very strong, but I think the 110 cam may be a little too radical for these carbs; idle is a bit rough, but I can live with it.
Those 32 PDSITs are designed to work with the oil bath air cleaner, so I would expect problems if you switch. |
