My house was built in 1929 in what is known as Spanish Colonial Revival Style and I collect all kinds of stuff that is correct for the era, Here's some interior shots.

A few years back , my Buddy and I were at an Antique show in WPB,Fla. He went in one direction, and I went in the other. He comes back with a KDF savings bank that he scored for $20.00! He didn't know what it was. I asked him how much he wanted for it. He says" Fuck You, it must be worth something if you want it" He ended up selling it to me a a couple years later when he needed money for his divorce....It wasn't for 20 bucks either.

Fixed your two middle links, there Buddy.

Nice house! you really need some better furniture, though. I wouldn't charge you too much to haul all that old crap away :D. Pics of the outside? I'd like to see the style.

Estate auctions are usually what I go for especially the no name auctioneers because after they sell a few of the high dollar items they want to go home and start selling everything at a buck a box.

Haven't gone lately because I accumulate too much stuff.

Was down in S.C. at my dads place this past May, he has a small Arts & Crafts style. Anyway My wife and I were at an antique shop he and his wife frequent, and ran across an old small printing press, probably a letter press. The guy wanted what was asking $1500- but that was more then what I was willing to pay. Last week my dad called and asked / well told me he had picked it up for $500. - includes type faces, drawers, manual, etc. He is going to send the manual so I can review it.

My whole house is furnished by junk stores and garage sales.
Seriously, you take one piece of garbage from one sale, and some more from another- apart its just old junk, but if you know how to put it together...it turns into gold.
Antique stores are nothing but well-displayed garage sales'.
My latest score:

And everything in our living room, seriously- ALL from garage sales:

This was at a yard sale for $5. It had about 4 coats of various colors of enamel on it from over the years.

I'm no expert, but I think it cleaned up nice.

I love going to neighborhood garage sales. And if you are a history nut like I am, you will appreciate this story. A few years ago, I'm at this garage sale in San Diego, and on the wall in the garage, is a picture of the Flying Wing, Northrop YB-49, flying over the U.S. Capitol, dated 1947. I said, wow, the Flying Wing! Is that for sale? The lady said no, but was obviously impressed that I knew what it was. So she asked if I'd like to meet the pilot, which was her Dad, who was inside the house making spaghetti sauce. I said sure!...what's your Dad's name?.... Bob Cardenas... My jaw hit the deck!

So here I am, now in his home office with wall to wall pics of every type of aircraft, the Bell X-1, and the ME-262, to name a few, all flown by Brigadier General (Retired) Robert Cardenas, and he's telling me how awesome it was to be a test pilot, and I soaked it in. After I got home, I looked up his bio online, and didn't realize just how influential this guy was. He was a very interesting and straight, down to earth guy. Made you feel really welcome.

Anyway, I got to shake his hand, listen to some cool stories, and sample his spaghetti sauce. I was numb leaving his house. I can't even remember if I bought anything at the garage sale, it really didn't matter.

Went to two flea markets this weekend. Got an Authorized Personel Only sign and a railroad crossing sign cheap! It's 41 x 41"! Then we got our 5 year anniversary present, an awesome mirror with a wood inlay border.
