| Pictures of the areas in question would help alot. How much rust in the engine area and where? What needs to be fixed on on the pan? just dented? rusted? rockers? And if it's only worth $500 to you, that's what you offer, and if they say "No" hand then your number and walk. They'll either call you back with a counter offer, accept it or not. For 1K there are other T3 out there that would love your attention. |

| I agree with R.Rabbit, in that we could use some pics to see how bad it really is. As far as repairing it goes, can you weld? Do you have access to the replacement parts? If no to either or both of these, then you'll spend almost what you're offering for the car just to fix it. As far as the engine being seized goes, plan on replacing it. You'll be further ahead that way. I only say that because you don't know what caused it to be seized in the first place (could be rust or a bearing or both by now). And you'll probably need the cooling parts off the old motor anyway. You might want to price some t-3 long blocks, so you'll be more informed when you talk to the guy (as a way of justifing your bid). I hope this helps. |

Rockers are the the panel that attach the front of the car to the back half.
It is the metal under the doors.
If there is rust there you are in for a long job.
As for the metal areound the engine compartment , it is really hard to cut out and replace, it is all double layered and very hard to cut.
If the car is rusty walk away-
If you want a solid car come down to portland we have a few for sale fastys, squares, and even notches.
All are solid cars.
Later-
It sounds like a 400.00 car at best |

| If the engine is seized, then it will need to be rebuilt. $400 sounds like too much to me, considering all the problems it has. Unless the interior is perfect I wouldn't mess with it. There's plenty of decent type 3's out there. Find a better deal. |
