 I'm an extreme newbie
But still, I've always loved Type1 and Type2 VW's...
And now I just bought a nice looking 1303s '73 :D
But, I don't know what "can" be done, and what "cant". Being a newbie I just don't know how to find out if the frame of the car is in too bad condition. How do I find out? And what can I do about it, if it needs attention?
There's a bit of rust of course, but as far as I can see I should be able to patch it and fix it where I can see it. i.e. the doors, a little on the hood and som around the tail lights.
The biggest question for me is "is it worth it", will the car underneath hold together, and how do I find that out?
Thanks!

Thanks! I have a better understanding now... I've also searched the web for more information regarding this, and starting to feel confident that my 1303s actually will hold together. :)
Sooo.. next thing, making it run without having to push-start it.
Bleeding brakes will be Sunday. :D |

| Just a suggestion: do make it stop before you make it run. Bad brakes are bad news. My Thing would kinda stop on the third pump when I picked it up (on a trailer!). Ended up with all wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and a couple of brake lines. It would be a good idea to inspect the system carefully before you put it on the road. |
