Is the engine that's in it now (the 1800) a type 4? If so it's probably not be cooling properly. You can use a type 1 case with type 3 tin, The only problem is that you can't use the stock oil filler tube/dipstick. As for the bumpers, they should bolt on with no modification.

Actually you need either a type3 case, or a universal case since you have a later car. The reason is the later type3s (after 69) have a rear engine hanger (cross bar) that bolts to the case. Most t-1 cases don't have that provision, but the universal cases do (both aluminum and magnesium cases being sold).

Also the 4 bolt pattern is a 4 on a 130, just like a bug.

Please do us a favor and use some punctuation, this way we can read you messages easier. :D Sorry but its a pet peeve of mine, as I like to know where a sentance starts and stops. Thanks.

My opinion is stay with the motor already in the car. I am running a 1.7 in my 72 that the DDB helped me with. I have had no problems with it overheating(running on the freeway and city),and if you want it to run under the deck, shell out for a set of dual solex carbs. You cant beat the larger ports stock and once it is tuned you shouldnt have any problems. Dont go wasting money on another engine if you dont have to.

:o cool thanks for the info,i really do want to stay with the motor in the car its just.. looking at the motor from the rear it appears to be sitting furter to the drivers side to me??It has the bar holding engine up in rear that appears to have been cracked and repaired on one side?It looks to be installed right, might just be the tins are smaller on one side,im not sure. The axles seem to be un-even front to rear i have some pics but dont know how to post them?dont really see how it could be crooked but i have no experience with type 3s (yet) any help is appreciated thanks
Also where can i find the early style bumpers for sale new?I looked on ebay( my favorite place) but none to be found?
