View original topic: Brake Master Cylinder Upgrade

I have a '65 Notch and would like to upgrade my brake master cylinder to the later dual channel unit. Sometime down the line I'd like to add front discs but for now just the master cylinder would be a great safety upgrade. Does anyone know if P/N 311 611 015j the correct master cylinder for this upgrade? I realized I'll have to re-run my brake lines, any tips/suggestions? Lastly, any additional parts I'll need?

I have recently fitted front discs to my 63' square and also changed over the master cylinder for an NOS twin circuit one.
Not sure on the part number question, but there is hardly any re-routing of brake pipes. All you have to do is bend the end around on the pipe that runs to the rear because the port in the master cylinder is closer to the bulkhead. Also you have to extend the wires slightly to the brake switch.
You may choose to fit the twin circuit reservoir as well so you will need one of them. I just left my single standard one in and 't'ed off the supply pipe.
Bleeding them through afterwards was the biggest pain!

Gearhead, I'm parting out a '69 square and have the MC, the hard brake lines and the spindles still. I really need to sell this stuff so I could make you a great deal if you're interested. All parts came off a driving car.
