my 74 super is nearly complete! but i am having a lot of trouble with the fuse box wiring and stuff like that. i don't have any power to some fuses.
i can get headlights, she starts up, parking lights.etc seems that a hot wire might be my problem.. it is really hard to explain. anyone know of any websites for GOOD wiring diagrams or anythingthat can help me out?? I AM DYING TO GET HER ON THE ROAD!!!! |

Hiya beatle,
First off you need to point your browser at www.vintagebus.com for VWoA wiring diagrams in full color. That should help you out a bunch.
One more thing.......is the fuse box in your 74 the original? If it is not you may find the wiring diagram very difficult to follow. You see, the different fuse boxes (although they may look pretty much the same) had differing patterns for ganging the the fuse slots to one specific incoming hot line. This is often a major headache for a guy who is trying to rewire a generic replacement fuse box to original specifications.
Just something to be aware of.

| the "new" fuse box i am trying to get to work is out of a 74 super bettle just like mine. i don't see how that would cause a problem. when i took it out in the junk yard most of the wires were hooked up. i have been playing around using wiring diagrams just can't seem to get it right. it seems as if one wire is screwing me over!!! hehe |
