Having just gone through the selling / buying experience it would seem to be a nice idea to have a place to post actual prices for others to see. It would be anonymous to most except Ev who would know who is posting (thereby helping to prevent abuse from people trying to jack up prices), but it would just have to show model and year, actual selling / buying price, state (e.g. NJ), month / year of sale, and condition (1 to 5).
What gave me this idea was a want ad on here that says the car is not a "$6,000 rust bucket." Well, neither was mine but it sold for pretty darn near that price. Beetles would move a lot faster if everyone was up to speed on what real selling prices were (remember, it would be anonymous so no one gets hurt). Ebay lets you see what items actually sold for, so why not thesamba? |

It's a good idea but I'm afraid that:
1. Most people wouldn't fill it out
2. They would lie.
I am considering making the Deleted/Sold ads searchable for reference and/or insurance purposes. All contact information would not be displayed. |
