[/b]The Edit/Delete button pulls up the post, but there is no command or button in view to DELETE a post...I tried just erasing the text in subject and body, but was then told I would need a subject....?? I'm sure I'm missing something simple here.....Any direction, anyone?
Thanks |

| There is a little check box in the "Options" section below the text of your post |

I'm sorry....none of those boxes says "delete"...which box do I check/uncheck to delete the post?
By the way, I'm honored to receive a reply from Everett himself. This is a great site, sir. Once I get out of the "neophyte" or beginner status you have me in now, I look forward to engaging some of our older members in a new category dealing with the history of the Kdf/VW/beetle/Porsche, etc. Can't wait to post an avatar of a V-1 rocket. (From Wolfburg, with love) LOL |

When you hit edit and enter the edit screen for an existing post, there is a check box called "Delete this post" right above the preview button.
Check that box and hit Submit
This deletes only your post and not the whole thread (of course). |

| There is no such button above or anywhere else around "preview" or "submit". Do I need to change something in my preferences.? Sorry to seem obtuse, but there is no such button on my edit screen. Only the "poll" fields are above "preview" and "submit". |

You can also push the little X in the upper right of your post, next to the Edit button |

Gee.....I only have the first five options, not the 6th, "delete this post".
Also, there is no 'X' up to the right of the Edit button.
I'm on Windows 98 SE. (if that matters)
Is this a ritual thing done to newbies, like a snipe-hunt?....lol
Seriously, the bottom item above "preview-Submit" is the "Notify me when...reply posted" box....five check boxes, not six. Again, no 'X' in upper right next to edit button.
I feel like I'm in a Rod Serling script, here. |

the x is there if it is the most recent post of a thread
the "Delete this post" option shows up if you have already posted and click the edit button |

OK, maybe it's not available to you.
What post are you trying to delete? |

Thanks, Everett and Hamburger......I now realize that I cannot delete a whole post, which was my intention. I wanted to do that because it was too similar to my other post re 1600sp vs. 1600dp.
I appreciate your kind attention and the promptness of your replies.
Again, great site, and great people. |

Ok, just so everything is clear, the option to delete your post only shows up if no one has posted after you.
The post must be the last post in the thread. |
