| ok, im looking to get a new muffler/tailpipe set up but i dont see many choices for a stock 74 super. there are a lot designed to fit up to a '73 standard so my question is will a muffler(aftermarket) thats designed to fit up to a 73 work on later super? sorry for the noob question. :? |

Yes it will fit, but it depends on if your car still has ( or is required to have by your state for emissions/ visual inpsection) the EGR on it.
The EGR on a 74 is the pipe that comes from a fitting on the drivers side of the stock muffler and connects to the intake manifold right beneath the carb.
If you are not required to have it, you can block it off and run what ever exhaust you want... 66-74 are the basically the same bolt up to the engine/ heads.
If you are required to have it, then you need a stock 74 muffler, preferably German. |
