Anyone know the trick to installing the chrome (aluminum) strips into the new window gaskets? Is there a special tool, technique or lubricant that make the installation easier? Thanks,

you have to be really careful but you have to slide it in going from one side to the other then I use a plastic tool that sorta resembles a butter knife to spread the slot in the rubber and work the moulding into the groove. It takes some time and then on the windshield I sometimes have to contour the shape of the botom corners of the trim to fit right because the company that makes them doesnt bend them 100% correct.
On the windshield, I will slide one side on at a time sliding them inward towards the center of the windshield. Sometimes the moulding will want to pop back out while im installing the other side so I will use some tape temporarily to hold it from popping out. Lastly the little aluminum clasps that hold it together will have to be pushed on at an angle then they will cover the split where they join together. Like I said, be careful and have patience because that stuff bends very easily. Good luck.

Can you put it in after the window is in the car?? Cuz I sure as hell cant get it in.

never tried it in the car. I never had a problem. Once the window is installed the rubber really grips around the trim so I bet it would be difficult.

I put my window in and realized I forgot the trim, damn guess it's coming back out.

i have tried to put it in after the window was in....

with how easily the trim is bent i couldn't get it to go in.

i took the window out and set it in like skim said, i used a bunch of silicone spray as lube.

all I know is that its a pain in the ass. I used soap and water sprayed into the groove. once the trim sets in it grips better and youll be able to install the window without the trim coming out.
