I was having a problem with my 1600 DP stalling when it dropped from high rev, so then i installed an ignitor in it and it seemed to solve the problem, but a couple of weeks ago it started stalling again, any ideas? I'm still running the standard pict34 carb with stock cleaner and such.

check the electric idle shutoff make sure it is not loose in the carb and clicks when the key is on and you take the wire off and touch it back.

and the idle pilot jet ( right side of carb) may have a bit of trash in it causing it to die at idle.

well i'm pretty sure there is no clicking. I can usaully tell it'll die cause it gets in this weird driving funk were it just runs like crap but then runs fine once it stalles and restarts.

I mean with the engine not running check the electric solenoid that is on the left side of the 34 pict carb and make sure it is not loose in the carb and that it makes a "click" noise when you turn the key on and touch the wire on and off.

Are you trying to say that it dies after you rev it up high ( car not driving) or after you are driving at speed and slow down/ come to a stop?

If its not the solenoid, it could be the distributor's advance mechanism sticking.

it's usually after highspeed/rev driving. It's mroe likely the vaccum adv. sticking, any advice on fixing it?

nope i tightened the idle cut off and it didn't stall yet today

I'd like to hear the answer to that question as well.
