I've made a pretty nasty discovery in my front wheel wells. After reading the informational post about super beetles, I'm a little worried. Please take a look at the wheel well pictures on my home page and let me know what you would suggest.

that doesn't look bad at all. As long as the strut towers arn't rusted you should be able to easily weld new well parts into it

Yeah, I've seen and worked with alot worse than that. Like Terran said if your strut tower areas are not rusted then the intergrity is still there and your only dealing with stopping/ removing what is there.

Keep doing what your doing... grinding it out, treating it with rust inhibitor.

mig weld in patch pieces where needed.

Not really what you want to use, unless it is to cover the bare metal to keep from rusting between work sessions. ( meaning your going to wire wheel or sand it all back off) the last thing you want is cheap primer under any of your paint/ on your repairs...

I use a product called www.ospho.com

until all the grinding, cutting of cancerous areas, and final welding is done. Then use POR15 or good quality epoxy primer to seal the bare metal. welded areas.

Thanks guys for your replies. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't restoring an unworthy car before I got any further. The leftmost hole in the picture is right on the edge of the shocktower, but with a little welding it should be secure again.
