I bought a brand new Emerson TV in 1991.

I think some Korean outfit bought the name, the original Emerson company was defunct as of 1973.

If I remember right, it was some enterprizing american that realized the Emerson name was still available and thought it still had cache and bought the rights for very cheap. Everyone else seemed to think the name was dead. He simply had Korean tvs made with his brand and imported them. To everyones surprise, he started selling lots of them.

My dad was a tv repairman too. I recall waking up and seeing the entire living room full of tvs, with the backs off and all those tubes glowing. Damn that was cool. Good thing he didnt stay in that profession. Few people bother to have one fixed at all now. They just toss it in the landfill and get a new one.

yep,nothing runs in the storage shop,god is that the best ya can do? dont be such a jealous douche,i wouldnt bust your balls,but then i dont try and cut people down to make myself feel better. instead i just try to encourage/stay positive.
the oremaster has a dual carbed 36er rebuilt and just sitting in the cargo area buried in a monster pile of barndoor/press era bus parts,its ridiculous. bobs also has 3 36ers in the belly,but yes nothing installed sorry derv

I drug this 59 panel out if the woods. It has some really faded logos. I have been buffing it out, coming along really nice.

I just saw this while looking through the archives on thsi site

This bakery J.J. Cassone is still in the same location in NY. Do you think they still have one of these just lying around? :wink:

I know the pics you're wanting, Mike. I'll get those off to you tonight. The '57 dd in the picture is actually a different bus than you think it is and it's moved along to a new owner.
