I remember in a past thread that there was some talk about later bus front torsion leaf stacks having a higher spring rate.
Can anyone give me the years that have the higher rates and the actual rate numbers if they know them.
I guess it would be in Newtons or some measurement like that right? |

There are different "colors" for torsion bars having to do with rate. I remember that my one ton single had different ones from the van I had at the time. However, I think there's something out in the Type II archive on this. But as I recall, again, the color indicated the capacity. |

this is the m-code for the 1 ton option.
215 1 ton payload and 1500cc engine (until October, 1964) Except MicroBus and Deluxe
but i think he was refering to the front beem, and if there is a different
rateing for the sprins in the beem. correct me if i am wrong. |

I will try to find the specific info in my literature archive. what I remember is that they change coincides with the sway bar which showed up in first on the '66 models. |
