what off the stock frontend can be used, if I buy an adjustable front beam and drop spindles? I want to go with a narrower beam, and keep my stock drum brakes for now. all this will be on a 65 bus. I chose a narrower beam so I could run a set of 15x7 stock chromies, have not chosen a tire size yet. thanks in advance. what size would you run on the that set up?

Well, it depends on what you get with the narrowed beam, typically
I've seen bare bones (with adjusters only) to thos including the
springs, torsion arms etc. But if it's a king pin then the King Pins and
Link Pins can be reused etc.

Talk to the manufacturer of your beam and find out what you get, ideally
you want something that's built up to the spindles, that way
you can bolt on your brakes, steering arms and damper.

oh and hwat I wanted to run 15x8 stock chromies on the rear, would I need shorter axels?

Depends upon offset but as a general rule, the Short axles will clear with the right wheel offset.
