Okay, today I spent a bit of time futzin with a lighted semaphore switch I bought on this site.
Anyway, since I couldn't find any posts on the subject I thought I'd share my experience.
Anyway, after typing in the instructions into babelfish and not getting anywhere I went after it with my meter. The guy who sold it to me said that's the way to do it... Not.... Sorry, umlats and funky punctuation don't do it here in Texas.
You know how typing German into babelfish is. Reminds me of "Mars Attacks!" when they were using the translator. WTF??? "You are putting
wire into off left now go up and scratch neck you mother dresses you funny."
Anyway all of this is on a Dec 52 Zwitter.
Basically the BL luggoes to the
black with green/white tracer. That's the hot wire.
VR goes to black w/green tracer (right semaphore) VL goes to black w/white tracer. Okay, now the fun part, how to get
the light on the end to light up. The switch didn't switch the power for the K lug, so I headed down to Radio Shack, bought two 50V 1A zener diodes, a little heat shrink and attach the VR + the VL to the K lug on the switch, K0 goes to ground. Viola a lighted semaphore switch...
So, if somebody buys one of these and puts it in, here's a little path findin.
But now I'm so happy. I think I'll frame my "vintage" instructions and put
underneath them "Ack! Ack! Ack!"
So, $.59 zener diodes... Thank Gawd I remember my Electronics. |
