| I am helping a fella to build a trike and he wants to put an auto trans in it. He found a donor fastback with an auto that supposedly works. My question is has anyone attempted this? How much work is involved with installing a auto trans. Are there a lot of components that come with an auto? It's not an auto stick. |

As long as the chassis donor is an IRS, the Type 3 full-auto trans will mount up fine. A buddy of mine is a Type 3 nut, and while travelling in TN he met a guy who builds automatic-shifted trikes; the guy said they are very popular with the ladies & older folks.
I was going to make my wife's Manx knockoff into a RHD automatic, but figured I'd never finish it if I overcomplicated it....A clutch is cheaper, and she can practice. :D |

| If he has the donor vehicle, it shouldn't be too hard - he can scavenge all the parts he might need off of that - shifter, linkage, whatever else he needs...probably still have to do some fabrication, but not too bad. |
