| The title isnt the greatest but its the best I could come up with... My 54 bug currently has a 1300 in it and a junk rear apron. I planned on putting on a new apron without the tailpipe cutouts. Can anyone suggest a muffler that might resemble a stock single tailpipe setup that will fit ok below the original-type rear apron? I looked around but so far havent found anything, perhaps someone here has found something that will work? Thanks in advance! |

In my '52, I am running a 1600 and faced the same problem with the muffler. What I used was a bus muffler(like for a 68-71 bus) and rotated the single tail pipe so it was facing the passenger side and welded it. If you line it up right, the single tail pipe exits just below the apron and almost looks right, although it is on the passenger side and not the drivers. If you want, I can e-mail you a pic.

| I have a 1600 in my 55 and the left tail pipe is rerouted and joined into the right one. |

How did you manage to do that with so little space back there? |
