| Thanx man, I built some standoff brackets that cool the engine perfect, drive it everyday ewven in summer and no overheating |

I agree about the tin, it will clean up the area around the motor, as far as overheating though, I made some "stand off" brackets for my decklid and have not had ANY kind of overheating problems and I drive it all the time here is a pic of my standoff decklid:

| The problem without having the tin is that you are pulling in hot air from below to cool your engine...which doesn't work so well. I know that you said you aren't overheating because you have stand off brackets, but sooner or later you will overheat it like that if you drive longer distances. It's taking life off your engine. You might have to completely custom fit tin though since it's a type 1 motor. |
