| i saw an ad for it in carcraft....and i got a hookup with some ugly carpet...anyone know how well it works? not a big issue but just curious |

Works ok, makes the carpet really stiff & IMO works better on looped carpet then cut-pile. If you're going from a dark to lighter shade, any stains on the carpet will still show - just a diff color, but covers well if going to a darker shade. It'll take more "paint"/dye then you think it will to get an even color & you need to use a stiff rake to pull the carpet fibers apart while it's still wet. Really think about it though, you probably can find a carpet set for a VW the color you want for slightly more then you'll spend buying all the dye you'd use. Alot of other cars you're way better off using the dye then buying a new carpet set.
As a FYI - The dye they sell for door panels/dash pads works good too as long as it's not someplace tht gets rubbed hard on a regular basis, like kick panels or entry guards. Those places, the scuffing from your shoes will rub the dye/paint off and the original color will show through. But it works real well other places like door panels, arm rests, center consoles |

| If you really want some good stuff....go down to your local cadilac dealer and get their spray carpet dye... they have sooooo many colors it is amazing.. you can also get matching vynal and leather dye... |
