Got sidetracked :roll: . I got everything I need. I've got this weekend planned out so if everything goes well, it will be back in before Monday.

thanks for that post i need to take my tank out and clean it out i might even put in a new tank not sure yet.

New tanks are not available for 411/412's

Hey, that's okay! :D Type 4 parts often will have to be repaired, found good used, or fabricated, or modified from other cars as most parts aren't available through normal channels. Some parts are out there, though! Ebay is a decent source, type4.org classifieds, thesamba classifieds, swap meets, and shoptalkforums.com.

you have to be pretty good at locating parts for these cars. but once you start its real fun!

I'll have to agree, it is fun. Once you get the tank out, you'll see that there is a big space under there. If my tank was not repairable, I was going to use a spun aluminum tank. You have to ba a little creative with these cars.
