Radrob
OK, I must say you may just become my new hero, just depends on how you answer these questions.....

Did you install the fuel gage sender? If so, where did you get it? Is it just a VDO sender, or one special for the type of Tank?

Reason I ask is that my '59 has an after-market fuel gauge installed when I bought it, but am having trouble finding a replacement sender that is attached to the filler neck.

BTW: Cool rides!

Thanks everyone for the complements
the iceland green one has been my project for the last 5 years off and on
and i just had the headliner, and carpet instaled last weekend

I bought the tank with the holes already cut
I just bought an aftermarket vdo sending unit
and the gauge the goes with that sending unit
it comes with the bolts and flange and gasket
if you want i can get you the part numbers that i bought
i work at a parts store but had to special order them

I would love to know the parts numbers. I no longer have the reserve valve and am tired of guessing how much gas I have left in the tank.
thank you in advance

Either of them still have a 36hp engine?

radrob Mon Oct 18, 2004 8:22 pm

No but im hoping to get a 36hp from a friend and get it rebuilt for the iceland green one.

TimGud Mon Oct 18, 2004 8:24 pm

Going to leave the shifter on it when you install a 36 or go back to stock on it as well?
