I applaud your effort and your enthusiasm, but I must warn you, there is a small group of people devoted to these cars and they already have good places to hang out and share ideas.

I'm not saying this to discourage you. I think the more resources the better, however don't get discouraged if the site you set up doesn't turn into the new hangout. You might consider compiling all the information you can find, especially information that's not availabe anywhere else, and include it in your site. Also, chronicle you're experiences with the car and post them so others will have a reference when they go to do the same to theirs. In order to get people to visit, you must provide them with something they can't get anywhere else. Or, you can just dive in and participate at all the already existing sites. Either way, you get an A+ for effort. :P

Do you own a 412? Make the site dedicated to yours. Talk about the history of the car, when you bought it, what condition it is in, etc. You could also a weblog like site with the things that you do with it, the repairs, the cool people you've met because of it, etc. What are your future plans?

Use a lot of pictures, from varying angles. Shoot the outside, interior, engine, etc. Let people see what the 412 was about, and what your's is about.

That sounds like a great idea.

There's one site (www.volksrods.com) that has a message board dedicated to members projects. As people do things to their cars, they update and have a running thread that is all their own. There is a section here for that as well I believe. I have not seen a forum yet that is dedicated to the Type 4 that does that. People might be interested in doing that. The more information that is out there, and the easier it is to find, the more support the Type 4 community will recieve. :P

I've got some repair manuals that I purchased recently and in them I have found diagrams and articles that I've never seen online before. If you run across the same situation, you could scan the information and post it on your site. That would be new information that people could find useful. I was planning on doing that eventually myself, but I'm lazy :cry: .

Sorry dude, I meant to but got sidetracked. I just tried to open Uber's story page and couldn't see anything. Did you put anything in there yet?
